Week 42: Worship God for His wondrous works.

Let them thank the LORD for his steadfast love, for his wondrous works to the children of man!” –Psalm 107:8

Remembering God’s wondrous works that He did for you means you were in trouble and needed His help. The many troubling situations in which the Israelites saw God’s wondrous works were when they needed a miracle. Read the Book of Exodus to appreciate the kinds of wondrous works God did.

Remember the wondrous works that he has done, his miracles, and the judgments he uttered. –1Chronicals 16:12

Another way God displays His wondrous works is in His creation, from the stars to the birds and bacteria to fungi. How He created the human body is so amazing; you can worship God for the wondrous works within our bodies. How we see, hear, digest food, make energy, and so on.

Meditate on the following verses and direct your praise to God as you read each verse in Psalm 111.

2  Great are the works of the LORD, studied by all who delight in them.

3  Full of splendor and majesty is his work, and his righteousness endures forever.

4  He has caused his wondrous works to be remembered; the LORD is gracious and merciful.

5  He provides food for those who fear him; he remembers his covenant forever.

6  He has shown his people the power of his works, in giving them the inheritance of the nations.

7  The works of his hands are faithful and just; all his precepts are trustworthy;

8  they are established forever and ever, to be performed with faithfulness and uprightness.

9  He sent redemption to his people; he has commanded his covenant forever. Holy and awesome is his name!

1Chronicals 16:9 and Psalm 105:2 state, “Sing to him, sing praises to him; tell of all his wondrous works!” Again, we are encouraged to sing praises to God and tell of his wondrous works. Sing “How Great Though Art” with me. Next, I encourage you to read Psalm 107 and meditate on it. This Psalm explains the wondrous works of God and his steadfast love toward those who turn to Him.

May God bless you richly as you worship Him this week.
