WEEK 31: Worship as creation does.

Do you know creation worships God? Remember the Palm Sunday story when Jesus was riding a colt into Jerusalem? Luke records the event in Luke 19:36-40: “And as he rode along, they spread their cloaks on the road. 37As he was drawing near—already on the way down the Mount of Olives—the whole multitude of his disciples began to rejoice and praise God with a loud voice for all the mighty works that they had seen, saying, “Blessed is the King who comes in the name of the Lord! Peace in heaven and glory in the highest!” 39And some of the Pharisees in the crowd said to him, “Teacher, rebuke your disciples.” 40He answered, ‘I tell you, if these were silent, the very stones would cry out.’

Have you ever been told to be quiet during worship? I know I could not worship God with loud praises in the Lutheran Church I attended as a child. Remember, praise to God is about rejoicing for the great things He has done. See my post, Worship is Rejoicing. Jesus said that the stones would cry out. Do you think this is a figure of speech, or do you think it could be literal?

How do you think King David knew that creation praised God? He writes in Psalm 96:11-13Let the heavens be glad, and let the earth rejoice; let the sea roar, and all that fills it; let the field exult, and everything in it! Then shall all the trees of the forest sing for joy before the LORD, for he comes, for he comes to judge the earth. He will judge the world in righteousness, and the peoples in his faithfulness.” He also wrote in Psalm 148:3, “Praise Him, sun and moon; Praise Him, all stars of light!

We think of creation as being physical objects, not living organisms. Yet, everything created is made up of atoms that have an electrical frequency. I looked up the frequency of a tree; you will be surprised when you read this linked article to learn more. All physical objects emit frequencies, and I believe these frequencies give God glory (read my post called WEEK 27: Worship is giving God glory.

This week, as you worship, remember that all creation worships God to. May God bless you and may His face fine on you.

WEEK 31 –July 30-August 5

Day 211-July 30—Worship God for sending His Son who give us life.

The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly. –John 10:10

Day 212-July 31—Worship God for sending the perfect Shepherd.

I am the good shepherd. I know my own, and my own know me, just as the Father knows me and I know the Father, and I lay down my life for the sheep. 16And I have other sheep that are not of this fold. I must bring them also, and they will listen to my voice. So there will be one flock, one shepherd. –John 10:14-16

Day 213-Aug. 1—Worship God for the promise that no one can snatch you out of His hand.

My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me. 28I give them eternal life, and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand. 29My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all, and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father’s hand. 30I and the Father are one.” –John 10:27-30

Day 214-Aug. 2—Worship God who has prepared a place in heaven for you.

In my Father’s house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you? 3And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am you may be also. –John 14:2-3

Day 215-Aug. 3—Worship God for sending the Holy Spirit to help and teach you.

But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you. –John 14:26

Day 216-Aug. 4—Worship God for the Spirit that guides us into all the truth.

When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all the truth, for he will not speak on his own authority, but whatever he hears, he will speak, and he will declare to you the things that are to come. –John 16:13

Day 217- Aug. 5—Worship God for giving us peace and overcoming faith.

I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.” –John 16:33

For everyone who has been born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith. –1John 5:4
