STRONGHOLDS PART I—What are they and how do they affect us?

Strongholds are the mental fortresses that are built by bad memories in order to protect us from further hurt. But in fact, they keep us from experiencing life and love. Strongholds are usually built to protect an unhealthy belief or beliefs generated by bad experiences that we have often forgotten about but still control us. Visit my website for more details about unhealthy beliefs. I knew I had a stronghold issue by the negative behavior patterns that would control my reactions to situations. Unfortunately, strongholds are unknown to our conscious mind. I also discovered that strongholds came in pairs to keep us in bondage to our unhealthy beliefs. I also discovered that strongholds protect seats of authority, which controls our decisions and behaviors. Have you ever seen a castle? A Ruler builds a fortress to protect his or her interests and authority to rule.  Most castles have multiple protection barriers and it is the same with our hearts. Now imagine many castles in your heart that each protect a seat of authority. These authorities want to rule our lives and control what we think, say, and do.

As you read through the following combinations you may see them in your life, but the bad memories and unhealthy beliefs can only be revealed and destroyed through prayer because only God can see into the depths of our souls, and heal the hurt that created the strongholds. Each of the following strongholds is described in more details in my website.

–Authority seat of anxiety protected by the strongholds of worry, and fear.
–Authority seat of insecurity protected by the strongholds of control and betrayal.
–Authority seat of disappointment protected by the strongholds of apathy and rejection.
–Authority seat of insignificance protected by the strongholds of rejection and approval.
–Authority seat of humiliation protected by the strongholds of shame and sadness.
–Authority seat of impatience protected by the strongholds of injustice and unfairness.
–Authority seat of anger protected by the strongholds of pride and judgment.
–Authority seat of doubt protected by the strongholds of rebellion and independence.
–Authority seat of deception (lying) protected by the strongholds of protection and manipulation.
–Authority seat of oppression protected by the strongholds of irresponsibility and infirmity.
–Authority seat of escapism protected by the strongholds of loneliness and discontentment.
–Identifying and overcoming harmful actions and additions.

Tearing down strongholds, especially addiction strongholds, requires that we are able to hear from God and that we are in a right relationship with God. Please visit my website to learn more about how you can be right with God and to be free from the bondage of the above stronghold combinations.
